ON THE ROAD AGAIN

TAVITA'S FALLS

After our trip to Samoa, things changed considerably.  I learned that you should never take someone else to your home that held so much love and meaning to you.  I actually understood why so many countries don't really appreciate "ugly american" visitors   Jeri and her daughter hated everything about Samoa.  How dare they not want to accept American money, American credit cards, and inhospitable of them to continue to  speak their native language in front of them!

For over a year we did no traveling while Jeri and her daughter tried to take some trips on their own.  Unfortunately these ventures turned disastrous quickly and they had to turn around and come home.

So when she finally decided that we should go again, she wanted to visit Wisconsin.  She had been to Wisconsin Dells and wanted to return.  All I could think of was a gigantic water park, boy was I wrong!

Our first stop was in a lovely B&B that was hidden in the middle of a very average housing addition.  It was an old estate with elegant main house where our delicious breakfast was served.

Our rooms were in this beautifully restored Carriage House.  I wondered the grounds of the huge estate, until it was too dark to see anymore.

Awoke early, as usual, and went out again and watched one of the most amazing sunrises ever!
This is the exact colors, I didn't change anything.  It was so beautiful I didn't want the sun to come all the way up.

This is the main house awakening with the sunrise.
From here we went to THE HOUSE ON THE ROCK!  Yes it was just as fabulous as I'd always heard.

The INFINITY ROOM was my favorite as it did seem to go on forever.

The point of no return?  I guess if anyone ever went past this entrance they may never be seen or heard of again????

Beautiful TIFFANY lamps everywhere, all shapes and sizes.

Even some walls and ceilings were Tiffany.

Okay, enough Tiffany, but they are pretty awesome.

A little of the outdoor art.  There is so much to see here that you could spend two or three days and never see it all to give each thing the justice that it deserves.

Leaving "THE HOUSE" we went into Spring Green, Wisconsin, the little town with so much to offer, HOUSE ON THE ROCK and FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT'S TALIESIN EAST, where we had a delightful lunch at their "little" General Store.  By the way, for those, of you, that I brought the "scalp massager," this is where I found them.

My sandwich, I've forgotten what kind, but needless to say I couldn't eat it all, but what I did, I do remember that it was delicious.

My room at the fabulous BOWMAN'S OAK HILL B&B in Wisconsin Dells.  The owners were fantastic, the other guests were funny, great conversationalist, made Jeri and I feel special.

The wide angle view of sunrise from the front porch.

Me, ready to see the sights of The DELLS!

Just the first inklings of the Beauty that we were about to see for the next two days,  This was the start of the  UPPER DELLS TOUR.  The layers, etched by thousands of years of wind, water, and shifting of the earth was spell binding as it reflected in the crystal clear water or the river.

Even the man made additions to the landscape were lovely and made you wonder what it would be like to live in this spectacular setting.

Back on shore there were many unusual sights to see and places to explore such as this great sculpture of a dragon or an actual car stuck to the wall.

That's the top of Jeri's car parked right below it.  OOPS, I didn't notice that when I parked there.

This is the narrow, winding, long WITCH'S TRAIL, winds up at a gift shop, or course.  It was fascinating, but we barely had time to "shop" for anything before the boat left again.

But back on the boat, brought more wonderful sights of      NATURE.

This was an exciting but frustrating sight.  It takes place every 2 hours as visitors, on The Lower Dells tour comes through.  A trained German Shepherd jumps across from one cliff to the other.  Of course everyone cheers and it's so wonderful, but, you know me, what if he has a bad day and misses?

This is a ficinating walk through this tunnel, cave, grotto, what ever it is, sorry my pictures don't show the multicolored levels of the stone.

Just one last shot of the colorful unusual rock formations all along and through both the Upper and Lower Dells tours.

Before we returned to the B&B we stopped for supper at the highly advertised and rated MOOSE JAW PIZZA.  This is one of their delivery cars.  Jeri begged them to deliver a pizza to her house in one of these.  "I think that the pizza would be cold by the time we got there."  The manager explained to her.  We had a good laugh and a fantastic Pizza.
